LiveBright Scholarship Program

The LiveBright Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate leadership in their communities, understand the importance of planning for retirement - no matter the age, and strive to achieve academic success.

We are now accepting applications! The application deadline is August 29th, 2024.

How can we ensure young Canadians are confident with their financial literacy, no matter their cultural and educational background?

Share your ideas and apply for the Sun Life Global Investments’ LiveBright scholarship program.

The LiveBright Scholarship program provides three students across Canada with a one-time $3,500 award. It’s awarded to students who demonstrate leadership in their communities, strive to achieve academic success and understand the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I).

At Sun Life Global Investments and Sun Life, we embrace DE&I because it unleashes creativity, fosters innovation, and drives value. Above all, it's the right thing to do - for you, our clients, and our communities.

  • Create a 1-page infographic to outline how young Canadians can build on their financial literacy, regardless of gender, cultural differences, or educational disparities.

  • Download and fill out the application form. Attach your one- page flyer and current complete transcript(s) using the “add attachment” feature in the fillable application form.

Having trouble with the application form? You must download the form to your desktop and save it before filling it out.

 Some key questions to consider:

  • Define financial confidence. What does it mean to you and why is it important?
  • What are some strategies or ideas you might have to help young Canadians build and maintain financial literacy and confidence?
  • What tools or outlets/platforms would you use to help learn from?
  • What are some barriers young Canadians face in developing financial confidence? (e.g. Consider factors such as age, gender, cultural differences, and educational disparities. Use stats and illustrations to make your point).
  • How can we make finances and investing engaging for all people regardless of their age and demographic? (Consider approaches using relatable examples and incorporating interactive/modern tools, technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and education).
